Are you not one to wear red lipstick? Or even hot pink for that matter?? Maybe you don't know what eye shadow and blush to pair with a brighter lipstick. Or perhaps you just aren't used to bright lips! It can be a shocker when you first put it on, especially if you are used to lighter colors but let me tell you, every time I wear hot pink or red, I get tons of compliments!
I love to pair a simple nude eye with red lips and a nude or soft pink eye with hot pink lips! Think of the classics like Marilyn Monroe.
Bright lipsticks can be tricky to apply and wear without feathering but with these simple steps, you can pull it off!
1) Apply a lip liner that matches the lipstick color. Line your lips and then fill them in. By lining your lips you will help prevent the lipstick from feathering.
2) Apply lipstick all over your lips and blot with a tissue.
3) Dust a loose Translucent powder over the lipstick to help set it.
4) Add a red gloss if desired.
Here I am wearing a nude eye with black eye liner, red blush and red lips. It's really a fun look, not to mention a classic.
